Seriously. Love your work, buddy, but sleep is an option, too :) |

| | comsat angels. day one. | ] | Ugh. Fucking Rose Festival. Go home, tourists! Give me back my city!
Anyway here is a 404 that amused me for almost 30 seconds.
So...
We thought it would be cool to get a cat for the office, but we needed a litter box, and there wasn't really room in the bathroom, so we put it next to these servers in the back, and everything would have been fine, but the A/C repair guy was allergic and the cat reacts badly to loud noises and there were all these wires hanging back there and a bunch of surprisingly flammable packing material...
Erik thought it would be JUST AWESOME to put a paperclip on the end of a rubber band and shoot it at Vinay's eye, and it would have just been Erik and Vinay's problem except Vinay had a cup of coffee and was standing over James, who was fixing our router at the time...
Anyway, we'll have things back up soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Now THIS restores my faith in science. I mean, really.
I was having a really bad week until I read that. |

Today:
O HAI geckoinpdx! Now you know how to greet people in Lolspeak!
...cause I was always curious... |

Side note; despite the fact that 90% of it is fake and he's a hardcore Christian, "Bear" Grylls? Yeah, I'd hit it. Repeatedly. Even though he eats snakes and raw spiders and so forth. Anyway.
So I spent two hours or so finally watching "I Am Legend". Crap adaptations aside, and despite the fact that Will Smith can't act in a serious role to save his life, and it features some of the most atrocious special effects I've ever seen ("V", Clash of the Titans and Terminator included)...
That scene with Sam in the lab after the attack is one of the most heartbreaking things I've ever seen. And the part in the video store immediately following...
So sometimes I guess it works. |

| | klaus nomi. icurok (2c) | ] | A very boring conversation from today.
Work: Hi, when are you coming in today? Me: I'll be in late morning, probably an hour or so..? Work: OK, just come and see me the minute you get in, OK? Me: Er...ok...is everything alright? Do I need to worry? Work: Well, your accounts aren't in trouble. They're fine. Me: Er...am I in trouble? Work: No, you're fine. It's $client (that I did help out with sometimes). Me: Ok. Well, I'm on my way.
So I go in and find my manager. What's up? Manager: Let's find a conference room, so your screams don't upset your coworkers.
Boring story short: I'm on the first flight to Dallas tomorrow.
Indefinitely.
Could be three days, could be three months. I'm there until I Save The Contract.
FuckFuckFuckFuck I Hate Texas almost as much as I hate Tennessee.
The end. |
